We are very excited to welcome the Red Devils Parachute Display Team to the Christchurch Food Festival in 2020, a fitting tribute to the 75th Anniversary VE Day Celebrations.
The Red Devils, formed in 1964, are the official parachute display team of the British Army and The Parachute Regiment. The team is currently 15 men strong – all full time serving paratroopers, who return to combat duties when required during their posting with the team.
The world famous team is a non profit organisation, that exists to recruit for the British Army.
They also support its charities by raising funds and profile through awe-inspiring public displays and adrenaline-fuelled tandem parachute jumps across the UK and abroad.
As professional skydivers they perform over 350 tandem parachute descents, and 60 public displays each year in the UK and internationally, into charity, sporting, military and social events.
On Friday 8th May, the Red Devils will leap into Christchurch Town Centre to land on Barrack Road Recreation Gound and visitors will witness a spectacular parachute display that will open the festival with their stunning skill and courage.
As the official British Army display team we felt this was a fitting inclusion for the event on the special occasion of the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
